Rich History, Non"Track Like" Houses and Great Location!
Newhall or “Old Town Newhall” as the locals call it was the first permanent town and therefore is the oldest town in Santa Clarita. It was named after Henry Mayo Newhall whose extensive share of land holdings became the communities we know today as Valencia, Newhall and Saugus. Newhall homes for sale is a distinct and diverse neighborhood with historic sights, iconic film locations, beautiful parks, excellent schools and one of a kind homes. Downtown Newhall offers an eclectic mix of boutique shopping, Old Western Heritage, casual and fine dining and so much more! Newhall is also Santa Clarita’s premier arts and entertainment center offering wonderful plays at the Repertory East Playhouse and Canyon Theatre Guild, One of the largest events in Newall is the Cowboy Festival in April! There are lots of fun activities to do, food to eat and music to enjoy! There truly is something for everyone at Newhall!
Let Me Count The Reasons!
Newhall homes for sale is approximately 30 miles from downtown Los Angeles and has seen quite the revival in recent years with new shops, bars, restaurants and a new library which opened in the fall of 2012. Newhall has a wide variety of fun things to do and places to explore as well. Start your day off at one of my favorite restaurants, Egg Plantation. It opened its doors in 1973 and offers the residents of Newhall 101 different omelette combinations to enjoy. It has consistently been voted the best restaurant for breakfast and brunch since 2010 to today! If you want a slice of history with your coffee than The Way Station is the place to go just make sure you come hungry, because the portions are large! After opening in 1971 The Way Station has become one of the many landmarks in Newhall. After satisfying your cravings go for a stroll down mainstreet and gaze upon our own Hollywood Walk of Fame, only we call it the Walk of Western Stars. Established in 1981 it takes you on a journey of all the legends that have contributed to our western heritage in film, television and radio. Or you can explore the William S. Hart Park and Museum which was the former retirement home of the famed silent film actor and director, William S. Hart in the early 1900’s. Once inside his Spanish Colonial Revival mansion you will find early Hollywood memorabilia, many of Mr. Hart’s personal belongings and furniture as well. His impressive collection of artwork by Charles M. Russell. is worth the effort to explore. There is also a historic Ranch House which was built in 1910 that is a must to visit and why not as a gift from Mr. Hart himself both are free to enter. One of the newest additions to Newhall is our famous Metro Link which made it’s debut in 2000. Here you can take the train all the way to downtown Los Angeles’s Union Station or go the opposite way to Lancaster. Either way you get to avoid the stresses of driving and instead relax and read a book!
